We're finally on Hong Kong's sleep Schedule. Our heads hit our pillows at 6am (Saturday night in Lan Kwai Fong) and up at 10:30am. We need food. Craving really good dim sum. Our Uber Driver picked us up on Wellington Street just down the hill from our hotel. Uber in Hong Kong seems to be about the same price as a taxi. But you can use Pay Pal and don't need cash on hand. We headed over to Causeway Bay to Din Tai Fung in Yee Wo. Their was a large crowd waiting to get in but thankfully for a 2 person table we only waited about 15 minutes.
We shared some really good dishes. Xiao Long Bao. Pork Dumplings in Special Sauce. Vegetable&Pork Wonton Soup. Shrimp&Pork Shao Mai. Pork Bao. Potstickers. Watermelon juice.
Walking off our food, we headed over to HK Times Square and Causeway Bay. There were so many people. I lost Katie at one point. I found her buying fresh Grape juice from a little old man street vendor. $20hkd. What a deal!
Next we hopped on the MTR and headed over to Tsim Sha Tsui. The MTR is their fast rail system. After a few stops on the island we jumped off to catch the underwater rail to TST. It was so fast, I couldn't believe we went under the Harbour so fast.
We walked along the promenade, past Jet Lees hand prints, around all the new construction and arrived at the Intercontinental Hotel.
Sitting down for high tea was amazing. We had a view of the whole HK skyline. We ordered the Champagne Tea Set for 2 with Fermented Oolong Tea. Awesome way to take a break from all the walking. Each bit was flavorful, colorful and unique. Great tea experience.
More walking. Further down the promenade along the skyline. Lots of photos. Crowds are growing as it gets darker. It feels like Christmas. All the Christmas decorations are large scale and so bright. The bright lights are bouncing off the HK Harbour. What a sight.
We took the Star Ferry back over to Hong Kong Island, Central. Each ticket was only $3.4HK. That's like $0.45US. Fun trip on the water.
Now we're at the pier. Wedding photos are going on around us. Screaming children. People laughing. Camera flashes everywhere. Man fishing off the dock. The carnival sounds. Christmas lights.
We're headed up to Mid level to see if the escalators are running. The lights have been off each time we passed yesterday. Passing through LKF to Soho we noticed that they were on! We take off from the bottom of mid level and took it almost all the way to the top. The escalators are fast and steep, and there are a lot of them. You can get off and explore shops, restaurants and bars on the levels. We decide to climb to the top and walk the shops on the way back down. We stop in at Ho Lee Fook a restaurant near our hotel in Soho that we wanted to try. Yum!
After dinner we walked back to our hotel. Packed our bags because the next morning we were headed to Chieng Mai, Thailand!
